Bandh in Machilipatnam E-mail
Expressing solidarity with the demand for setting up a deep water port, the port town of Machilipatnam observed a complete bandh on Wednesday. The bandh call was given by the all-party committee, which took up the issue of port site.

 
Copies of OMR sheets will be given E-mail
The EAMCET Committee has decided to provide photocopies of Optical Marks Reader (OMR) sheets after the results are announced and it has also decided to reduce the qualifying marks from the present 30 per cent to 25 per cent.
 
Metro rail gets 2500 Crore boost E-mail
The Hyderabad Metro Rail Project is set to get a boost with the Centre on Wednesday announcing a Rs 2500 crore grant to the venture. The state government had submitted a report to the Centre estimating the project cost as Rs 8,500 crore.

Youth interrupts Kalam’s speech E-mail

President A P J Abdul Kalam's speech at the Osmania University in Hyderabad on Thursday was disrupted by  youth who shouted slogans in support of a separate Telangana state.Kalam was addressing students of the university this morning when the youth stood up and shouted slogans like "Jai Telangana." He was immediately detained by security personnel.The President was about to conclude his speech when the incident occurred.
