The Delhi-based Moser Baer Photo Voltaic (MBPV), the wholly-owned subsidiary of optical storage media manufacturer Moser Baer, is likely to set up a photovoltaic (PV) cell unit at the proposed Fab City in Hyderabad.

Moser Baer is well known in the country and they recently forayed into the CD and DVD film and audio market. The company priced the CDs and DVDs very competitively and has a good market share. The company has a unit at Noida near Delhi.

The company is in talks with the state government for setting up a unit in the proposed Fab City. The representatives of the company have met the CM and the talks are in a advanced stage. It is also learnt that the state government had agreed to provide 75 acres of land at concessional rate in the Fab City along with power subsidy among other incentives.

The company is an established player in the optical storage media and its venture in Fab City is likely to boost up the project even further.
