August 08: The main opposition Telugu Desam Party has inducted as many as 176 members into its State committee. As expected Mr. Nandamuri Harikrishna, son of TDP founder and former Chief Minister late N.T. Rama Rao, has given place in the party's politburo. Announcing the party's State committee at a press conference at NTR bhavan here today, former Chief Minister and TDP President Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu claimed that the party has inducted new members mostly youth into the committee. Party has also inducted those who earlier indulged in anti-party activities and later regretted for their action. People with long standing in party activities were given top priority in finalization of the Committee list. Apart from politburo, ex-officio members, about 21 organizing secretaries, 18 joint secretaries and others were also listed in the committee, he noted. Senior TDP leaders T. Devender Goud, Nagam Janardhan Reddy, K. Yerran Naidu, P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, N. Hari Krishna, M. Jagannadham, Lal Jan Basha, K. Srinivasulu, U. Venkateswarlu, A. Rajkumar, K.E. Krishna Murthy, Y. Ramakrishnudu, E. Dayakar Rao and Pratibha Bharathi were among those included in the TDP politburo, while K. Srihari and R. Chandrasekhar Reddy named as ex-officio members. Besides, K. Srihari, Kala Venkat Rao, Shobha Nagi Reddy and Peddi Reddy would act as general secretaries, while G. Sukhender Reddy, J.R. Pushparaj, M.V.N. Moorthy, Yousuf Ali, B. Venkateswarlu, Shamanthakamani, M. Satyanarayana and Ambica Krishna as Vice-Presidents. Senior party members K. Vidyadhar Rao, M. Narsimhulu, M.V. Mysoora Reddy, K. Sivaprasada Rao, S. Venugopala Chary, C. Ramachandraiah and N. Rajakumari were selected as party spokespersons.             |
