The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLAs from Telangana Region led by their floor leader in the Assembly T. Devender Goud under took a padayatra from NTR Ghat to the Assembly on Monday demanding immediate construction of the Pranahita-Chevella link canal project.
In the Assembly, he gave notice of an adjournment motion demanding early implementation of the irrigation projects conceived by the State Government. Speaker KR Suresh Reddy rejected this as well as five other notices for adjournment motions given by TDP, CPM, CPI, TRS, BJP and Janata Party.
BJP member G. Kishan Reddy exhibited samples of turmeric, sugar cane and jowar grown in the State and complained that farmers were not getting remunerative prices for their produce.
