 GITAM College of Science now has its own short range FM channel which will be broadcast at a frequency of 97.8 MHz.
The FM channel, which was designed and fabricated by students of MSc Electronics/Physics department, was displayed at the Science Expo-2007 on the college premises here on Wednesday.The two-day Science Expo was inaugurated by Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) vice-chairman U Tataji on the college premises on the occasion of 21st National Science Day celebrations. Speaking on the occasion, Tataji stressed the need for more scientific research activity in the colleges and called upon the students and faculty to take more research works. Visakhapatnam Steel Plant general manager D S Sastry, who was the chief guest, said that biotechnology and pharmacy sectors have created a vast scope for development of many industries. GITAM Institutions president MVVS Murthi highlighted the importance of science for development of society. About 250 exhibits were on display.             |
